early morning in Liberia
Me: You're in early. What's up?
Liberian Coworker:That's because we didn't sleep.
Me: Eh?
LC: A big rumor went around that caterpillars had overtaken Monrovia. Many persons across Liberia woke up.
Me: That sounds crazy.
LC: The rumor said water supply would be contaminated by dawn. Another
version said it's a prophesy that water be blood the next day. I
thought it would be crazy. But children and women leaving their houses
in search of water supply as early as 1 am. The government had to send
out Bropleh, the information minister, to radio stations. So that's why
I am in early.
